school hymns

What is British culture? It is a set of values, habits, and idiosyncratic traditions that have developed over time, shaping our heritage and giving us a shared sense of identity. It is not something invented overnight or written down in a single place, but something lived, passed on, and recognised in the way people speak, behave, and understand the world around them.

If we do not continue these customs they will be replaced.  Traditions require attention and respect.

School hymns and collective worship in schools are part of that tradition. Many schools are replacing this with other types of worship, whether it's the climate, transgenderism or even "kindness".

I want to bring this back, I want to reignite the joy of singing together.

Colours of day dawn into the mind
The day has begun, the night is behind
Go down in the city into the street
And lets give the message to the people we meet

So light up the fire and let the flame burn
Open the door, let Jesus return
Take seeds of His Spirit, let the fruit grow
Tell the people of Jesus, let His love show

Go through the park, on into the town
The sun still shines on, it never goеs down
The light of the world is risen again
Thе people of darkness are needing a friend

So light up the fire and let the flame burn
Open the door, let Jesus return
Take seeds of His Spirit, let the fruit grow
Tell the people of Jesus, let His love show

So light up the fire and let the flame burn
Open the door, let Jesus return
Take seeds of His Spirit, let the fruit grow
Tell the people of Jesus, let His love show

So won't you
Light up the fire and let the flame burn
Open the door, let Jesus return
Take seeds of His Spirit, let the fruit grow
Tell the people of Jesus, and let His love show
And let his love show
And let his love show
And let his love show
