Why local councils?
Local councils shape the communities we live in every day—providing schools, libraries, housing, social care, and safeguarding services. For women and children, these services are vital. Councils make decisions about public toilets, domestic abuse shelters, youth programmes, and what is taught in schools. They have a legal duty to protect the most vulnerable, but too often women’s voices are ignored and safeguarding is sidelined. That’s why we must hold our councils accountable. By restoring sex-based rights and protecting children from ideological overreach, we can build safe, respectful communities where everyone’s rights—especially women’s and children’s—are truly protected.
