Update for Attendees – Confidential Request & Next Steps
Dear all,
Thank you once again for your continued support and patience. As you know, these matters always take more time than any of us would like, but we have now reached the point where Let Women Speak is formalising our case against Glasgow University Union following the events of 9 August.
At this stage, LWS is gathering and managing all relevant information so that we can proceed in a coordinated, effective way. We would therefore kindly ask that this communication, and the witness-statement form, are not shared with anyone outside the group of women who attended the event. Keeping this process contained helps protect the integrity of the case and ensures that the evidence remains strong.
We have taken advice, and in order to move into the next stage, we need to present substantial, consistent evidence. That is why witness statements are so important. Your account, no matter how brief, genuinely makes a difference.
In addition to building the formal case, we will also be providing a step-by-step guide for how each individual woman can take action personally, should she wish to do so, alongside being part of the collective action LWS is progressing. No one will be left unsure of what to do — we will guide you through each stage.
Thank you so much for your help, your solidarity, and your willingness to stand together.
We will get through this the way we always do — with clarity, courage, and women supporting women.
Warmest wishes,
Kellie-Jay
